Line Cook I (Sports & Social) - Bossier City

About the Role

At Live! we pride ourselves in our exceptional people. Our Team Members are the foundation of our success and truly the most valuable part of the Live! brand. As a Cook, you will prepare food for the Restaurant and ensure guests have a favorable dining experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare all food items and maintain the temperature of the items.
• Season and garnish food.
• Prepare all soups and sauces.
• Keep the cooking area clean and in an orderly state.
• Maintain inventory and order food items on a daily basis.
• Ensure the safety and security of employees and guests.
• Monitor and adjust performance to local competition as warranted.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• A high school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Must be 21 years or older.
• Culinary arts courses or equivalent experience.
• One (1) to three (3) years’ experience as a line cook in a restaurant.
• Ability to work in an environment with alcohol and smoking.
• Must have the ability to secure and maintain licensure as required by the Louisiana Gaming Control Board or any other applicable regulatory entity.

Skills

• Ability to use all kitchen equipment and appliances.
• Ability to read and write basic instructions.
• Knowledge of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
• Ability to be creative with cooking and food preparation.
• Ability to read and interpret production lists, menus, and Banquet event orders.
• Ability to complete accurate record keeping.
• Knowledge of sanitation and health department regulations for safe handling of food.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for long periods without sitting or leaning.
• Ability to bend, stoop, and reach while carrying food product, equipment, or trash/waste weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to lift, carry, and deliver food items weighing up to 50 pounds throughout a scheduled shift.
• Ability to work around 500-degree ovens and within 40-degree walk-in refrigerators.
• Ability to stand and walk continually throughout a 10-hour shift.
