The Line Cook (Kitchen Team Member) position invites you to love people by cooking great‑tasting, great‑looking food while learning business, leadership and hospitality in a fun, family atmosphere.

Responsibilities

• Prepare menu items according to Applebee’s recipes, plate presentations and specifications (approximately 50%).
• Complete all assigned prep work (approximately 15%).
• Set up workstation according to station diagram (approximately 15%).
• Practice sanitary and safe food handling at all times (approximately 10%).
• Clean and sanitize the work area before, during and after shift (approximately 5%).
• Complete assigned daily and weekly cleaning projects (approximately 5%).
• Work‑in and be cross‑trained in all kitchen department roles.

Qualifications

• Positive attitude and desire to learn and grow.
• Ability to place plates, utensils, pans and cases on high and low shelves.
• Reading, writing and verbal communication skills.
• Capability to use knives, slicing equipment and other food‑preparation equipment.
• Mobility required throughout the entire shift.
• Ability to transport cases up to 50 pounds up to 20 times per day.
• Ability to respond in emergency situations to avoid imminent dangers to self and others.

Physical Demands

• Navigate throughout the restaurant and communicate with guests.
• Move and grasp items up to five pounds regularly.
• Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
• Bend and stoop as needed.
• Adequate vision to discern cleanliness and operate a touchscreen.
• Reasonable accommodations may be made for disabilities.
