About the role

The Nassau Diner, a member of Genesis Hospitality, is seeking an energetic and team-oriented Line Cook for its Full Time position. The ideal candidate will assist in food preparation, execute service and production, and provide excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

• Follows recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications
• Executes service and production of food products for all/any areas of the kitchen
• Recognizes quality standards in fresh vegetables, fish, dairy, and meat products
• Aids in the cleaning, sanitation, and organization of kitchen and storage areas
• Performs additional responsibilities as requested by the Kitchen Manager
• Maintains assigned workstation in a safe and sanitary condition
• Handles food in a manner consistent with local health department guidelines
• Maintains acceptable standards of personal hygiene
• Complies with department's dress code
• Fulfills safety regulations, reports injuries or unsafe conditions to supervisor
• Attends in-service training and education sessions as assigned
• Works a variety of shifts including weekends, mornings, evenings
• Communicates effectively, both verbally and in writing
• Displays multi-tasking, organizational, and detail-oriented skills
• Works well in a fast-paced environment and under pressure
• Is dependable and reliable

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Bilingual in Spanish (optional but preferred)

Qualifications

• Ability to follow recipes and portion controls
• Knowledge of quality standards in fresh produce, fish, dairy, and meat products
• Experience with kitchen sanitation and organization
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Physical stamina to perform tasks in a fast-paced environment
