Principle Responsibilities and Position Purpose
The Line-Cook will be responsible for stocking and setting up the station, preparing food items, cooking food items, plating prepared foods, working with servers, ensuring equipment is in good condition, and washing and cleaning kitchen and cooking equipment.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Acquiring directions from supervisor and retaining information received.
- Assisting with stocking and setting up the kitchen stations.
- Preparing food includes cleaning and cutting the ingredients, cooking main dishes, desserts, appetizers and snacks.
- Plating prepared foods based on senior chefs' guidance.
- Working with servers to ensure that orders are completed according to request and on time.
- Ensure all equipment is kept in excellent working condition through personal inspection and by following the restaurant's preventative maintenance programs.
- Washing and cleaning the kitchen and cooking equipment at the end of work shifts.
- Full understanding of, and follow, all regulations that pertain to health and safety.
Specific Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of Food and Beverage, Local and State Food Handling laws and procedures.
- Must be organized and detail-oriented.
- Must be a strong team player with a hospitality-first mindset.
- Desire to provide phenomenal guest experiences, a passion for quality, and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to foster cooperation.
- Ability to build strong relationships and work with a team of culinary professionals.
Qualification Standards
- Education: Preference for previous cooking experience.
- Experience/Licenses/Certificates: Minimum of 2 years of experience in a restaurant or related field assets.
