The Greggory is a new restaurant in the Arboretum of South Barrington, reimagining American classics with warm, heartfelt hospitality. Led by seasoned restaurateurs Gregg Horan (Gibsons Restaurant Group) and Bill Veremis (Rosewood Steakhouse Group), alongside Executive Chef Jose Sosa (Gibsons Italia), The Greggory offers a sophisticated yet inviting atmosphere. The menu centers around live-fire cooking in an open kitchen, featuring prime cuts of beef, fresh seafood, and homemade pastas, blending culinary traditions with unmatched warmth and personality.

About the role

We are seeking Line Cooks to join our team and contribute to the daily operations of this exciting new restaurant.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily preparation of food items and station management
• Handle set-up, stocking, and preparing food according to the Executive Chef's recipes and standards
• Ensure kitchen operations and hygiene meet food safety standards and regulations
• Organize kitchen, walk-in coolers, and storage areas
• Plate prepared foods based on the Executive Chef's guidance
• Work with servers to ensure orders are completed accurately and on time
• Wash and clean the kitchen, cooking utensils, and store equipment at the end of shifts

Requirements

• Basic knife skills
• Ability to stand for extended periods (8-hour shift)
• Food safety knowledge
• Ability to lift 50 lbs
• Speed and finesse are a must
• Meets all company standards
• Maintain a positive attitude with self, guests, and teammates
• Complete all ongoing certifications/validations
• Maintain a clean workspace
• Love of food and cooking
• 1+ years of experience in a professional high-volume kitchen (preferred)
