What You Will Do

  • Greets customers with a courteous and friendly manner. Customers are our #1 priority.
  • Takes customers order and prepares the order according to recipe and procedures set by chef, keeping in mind guest specifications or dietary needs.
  • Able to remember, recite and promote the variety of menu items.
  • Cook items to specific cook times and temperatures in accordance to health regulations.
  • Able to produce mass production of recipes consistently.
  • Exhibit beginner-baking skill: dough and cookie batter.
  • Able to physically set up, breakdown and set catering production according to catering specs.
  • Follow and complete all items required as listed on prep list and par list.
  • Maintain proper and adequate set-up and breakdown of the station on a daily basis.
  • Requisition and stock of all required food, paper products, and condiments.
  • Responsible for maintaining stock, cutting, and storage of all perishables daily to ensure product quality.
  • Works with chef to contribute with suggestions on weekly menu.
  • Anticipates peak and non-peak service times; batch cooks food items accordingly.
  • Completes any other job related duties needed to help drive to our Vision, fulfill our Purpose, and abide by our Organization's Values.

What We Require

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Active Serve Safe and Food Handler Certifications.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of food service industry experience.
  • Basic knife skills: chopping, peeling, slicing, julienne, dice.
  • Able to operate point of sale and cash handling skills.
  • Able to use the pizza oven, meat slicer safely and properly.
  • Fluent with the grill position and prep/utility position.
  • Must be able to cook to order in front of customers.
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Excellent customer service, organizational skills, multi-tasking skills and time management skills.
  • Work a majority of time managing the Cafe, which requires physical activity, including prolonged standing and lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Our credit union café is open 7am to 2 pm and may work additional hours.
  • Employees in this role are frequently exposed to hot water, potentially slippery floors, garbage disposals and cleaning chemicals.

Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • Experience working in a commercial kitchen.
  • Associates degree, or additional training or certification.
  • Excellent customer service and time management skills.
  • General operational knowledge of computers.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Appropriate State of Texas Certifications/Licenses.
