Line Cook

About the role

As a Line Cook at River City Casino & Hotel, you’ll prepare food items following standard recipes and menu plans to ensure quality and consistency. You’ll work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment where days and nights are dynamic, collaborating with a diverse team passionate about delivering fun experiences.

Responsibilities

• Handle food prep tasks including washing, cutting, and cooking ingredients.
• Test food for proper preparation using tasting, smelling, and visual inspection.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, safety, and sanitation per health regulations.
• Coordinate with dining room staff and communicate orders effectively.
• Complete prep sheets, side duties, and follow opening/closing procedures.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and maintain assigned areas.
• Participate in scheduled training programs.
• Follow SOP guidelines and maintain strict confidentiality at all times.

Requirements

• At least 18 years of age.
• Minimum one (1) year of experience as a Line Cook preferred.
• Basic reading and math skills for recipes and measurements.
• Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with team members at all levels.
• Demonstrated ability to prepare a wide variety of food items to standard in a high-volume, fast-paced operation.
• Understanding and knowledge of sanitation procedures.
• Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.

Pay

$17.00 per hour (base salary). Initial placement within the salary range is based on relevant knowledge, skills, and experience.

Schedule

Available shifts: 2:00 PM – 9:30 PM or 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM.
