About the Role
As a Line Cook, you will provide exceptional service and understanding of Pelican menu items, proper procedure when cooking and plating dishes, and work efficiently and respectfully according to Pelican standards to prepare food and ensure superior meals for guests. You will adapt to menu changes and processes while learning the inner workings of the Pelican kitchen and standard operating procedures.
Responsibilities
- Take direction and learn Pelican-specific menu items and processes
- Read recipes and operate Kitchen Software Displays
- Communicate effectively with staff to streamline ticket issues, menu changes, or 86’d items during shifts
- Maintain a safe and clean workstation and overall environment
- Learn and perform line procedures, recipes, and operations
- Work in a fast-paced environment
- Assist other service personnel as needed
- Perform all duties in accordance with Pelican’s customer service standards
- Maintain general knowledge of Pelican menu items, events, and community involvement to share with guests
- Adhere to all Oregon Food and Safety policies and OSHA guidelines
Requirements
- Valid Food Handlers card (Oregon Food Handler’s Card required)
- Two years of Back of House experience (preferred)
- Ability to work on your feet for at least 8 hours
- Must be able to lift, handle, and carry items up to 50 pounds safely
- Must be able to bend, kneel, stoop, reach, and squat frequently
- Ability to work in an environment with loud noises, fumes, odors, dust, and smoke
- Understanding of Food Safety and cleanliness procedures
- Positive, helpful attitude and willingness to take direction
- Physical endurance to move quickly and carry heavy items
Pay
$15.55 hourly wage
