Core Responsibilities
- Station Setup: Setting up and stocking assigned cooking stations with all necessary supplies.
- Food Preparation: Prepping, chopping, and portioning ingredients before service.
- Cooking & Plating: Cooking menu items to order and plating them in a timely manner.
- Sanitation & Safety: Complying with food safety regulations, cleaning stations, and maintaining equipment.
- Collaboration: Working with team members to ensure all food comes out simultaneously.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Experience: Previous experience in a food service role.
- Knowledge: Understanding of food sanitation regulations and safety standards.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods and work in a hot, fast-paced environment.
- Schedule Flexibility: Availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Skills: Strong attention to detail, communication, and ability to follow recipes.
- Must be able to read orders from tickets and/or screen.
- Expeditor Description: Acts as the vital link between the kitchen (back of house) and service staff (front of house).
- Order Coordination: Reviewing incoming tickets and organizing them to ensure all items for a table are finished simultaneously.
- Quality Control: Inspecting every dish for plating, garnishing, temperature, and accuracy against the order before it leaves the kitchen.
- Communication: Acting as the central hub, passing information about special requests, dietary restrictions, or ticket times between chefs and servers.
- Table Flow Management: Coordinating with servers to pick up food immediately, managing the pace of service.
- Kitchen Cleanliness: Maintaining a clean and organized, safe, and hygienic "pass" area.
Qualifications
- Experience: Previous food service industry experience (server or line cook) is required.
- Multitasking: Ability to work in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.
- Communication: Excellent verbal skills to manage both front and back-of-house staff.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods and work in a hot, fast-paced environment.
- Detail-Oriented: Strong focus on ensuring quality and consistency.
- Food Safety: Knowledge of sanitation and food handling safety regulations.
Pay
$18-$21 per hour including tips (based on experience; potential to earn more if you learn multiple roles).
