Line Cook

About the role

WISEACRE Brewing Co. is seeking a Line Cook to help prepare delicious meals at our pizza and snack bar, Little Bettie. You will cook dishes that delight customers with their taste and timely delivery while following instructions and maintaining a clean, efficient kitchen. This position reports to the Kitchen Manager.

Responsibilities

• Set up workstations with ingredients and cooking equipment.
• Prepare ingredients (chopping, peeling, cutting meat, etc.).
• Cook food using various ovens and techniques.
• Monitor and adjust cooking as needed to ensure quality.
• Ensure dishes are presented well before serving.
• Maintain a sanitized and orderly kitchen environment.
• Store food and items properly and check ingredient quality.
• Monitor stock and place orders for shortages.
• Complete daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning, set-up, and breakdown tasks.
• Adhere to sanitation, safety, and alcohol beverage control policies.
• Use the POS system as instructed.
• Ensure a safe working and guest environment.
• Follow operational standards, company policies, and relevant laws.
• Communicate and embody the WISEACRE brand.
• Perform other duties as requested by management.

Experience Requirements

• Minimum one year of experience in the service industry.
• Proven experience as a line cook, pizza cook, or similar culinary role.
• Experience using knives, cutting tools, cookware, and commercial kitchen equipment.
• Knowledge of cooking techniques (baking, grilling, roasting, etc.).
• Ability to follow recipes, portion standards, and food preparation procedures consistently.
• Ability to follow food safety and sanitation procedures.
• Ability to multitask while maintaining composure in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with POS systems or willingness to learn.
• Positive attitude and ability to work as part of a team.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.

Pay

This position starts at $15 per hour on a part-time basis. Full-time employment may be available for exceptional candidates based on experience, availability, and business needs.
