About the role

We are seeking a personable, engaging, highly energetic individual who is outgoing and knowledgeable—or eager to learn—about wine and food. The successful candidate will uphold kitchen safety, cleanliness, punctuality, and organization while representing the LaBelle Winery brand with excellence. A strong team mentality is essential. This role requires a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and evenings.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare simple dishes such as salads, raw bar platters, pizzas, and desserts.
  • Follow prep lists created by chefs and ensure daily prep tasks are completed prior to service.
  • Adhere to basic recipes and product directions.
  • Operate kitchen equipment to measure, mix, wash, peel, cut, and shred ingredients, as well as trim and cut meat, poultry, or fish.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of kitchen equipment and safe handling procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with sanitation, food handling, and safety guidelines, including allergen procedures.
  • Follow approved food production standards for quality, serving temperatures, and portion control.
  • Properly store, label, and rotate food items, keeping ingredients organized and accessible.
  • Clean and sanitize work stations and equipment in accordance with company and regulatory rules.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Desire to work efficiently and urgently to complete daily tasks.
  • Knowledge of proper knife skills and basic cooking procedures.
  • Strong teamwork mentality.
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills.

Requirements for Advancement to Cook II

  • Complete knowledge of preparation and production requirements in assigned duties.
  • Ability to receive direction from supervisors and willingness to learn.
  • Reliability to work unsupervised at times.
  • Consistent attendance and a positive attitude.
  • Food safety certification (food handler).
  • 1+ years of culinary experience.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. occasionally.
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to climb stairs and ladders.
  • Ability to work in a food and wine environment.

Schedule

Full-time, including nights, holidays, and weekends.

Pay

$20–24 per hour.
