Line Cook

Upscale fine dining and casual venues in Essex, CT, serving an exclusive clientele. We are looking for a Line Cook with a passion for creating healthy, delicious dishes using herbs, vegetables, and fresh, locally sourced ingredients.

Responsibilities

• Exemplify community standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and operational organization at all times.
• Adhere to food quality, appearance, and presentation standards.
• Produce and serve menu cycle programs compliant with nutritional/dietary criteria as required by local regulations; correctly prepare diets per policy and procedure.
• Exhibit cooking standards of speed, accuracy, and efficiency.
• Demonstrate knowledge in all areas of cooking preparation and production.
• Assist with meal service and ware washing as necessary.
• Periodically visit residents to evaluate food service (quality, quantity, temperature, appearance) and make revisions to improve operations/procedures.
• Represent the community in a warm and inviting manner to create a positive marketing environment.
• Support a culture where business decisions drive top-line revenue and occupancy.

Requirements

• Some healthcare/hospital experience preferred.
• Positive personality and strong work ethic.
• Ability to effectively communicate, read, write, and follow oral and written instructions in English.
• Ability to perform simple arithmetic and understand measurements and conversions.
• Must pass preemployment screening: fitness-for-duty physical, criminal background check, drug test, and employment reference verification (as required by a licensed residential care facility).
• Some roles may require disclosure of vaccination status.
