About the role
We are looking for our next great team member to join us as a Line Cook at Shaughnessy's Pub.
Responsibilities
- Lead the work of the kitchen in assisting the Sous chef and/or Executive Sous Chef in preparing, cooking and supporting the kitchen staff.
- Inspect, select and use food items of the highest quality in the preparation of all menu items.
- Ensure food to order items for customers/guests are prepared in a timely and consistent manner.
- Prepare food of consistent quality following recipe cards and production and portion standards, per check from servers.
- Prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality standards, presentation standards and food preparation checklist.
- Date all food containers and rotate.
- Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis.
- Perform any other job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Self‑starting personality with an even disposition and ability to maintain a professional appearance and manner at all times.
- Strong communication skills with guests and willingness to “pitch‑in” and help co‑workers.
- Team player attitude.
- Adaptable to change in work area and hotel procedures, with a willingness to learn new skills and/or improve existing ones.
- Ability to solve routine problems that occur on the job and ask for help when unsure.
- Understand and believe that every Crescent associate is a guest relations ambassador.
- Flexible availability required; must be available to work weekends.
- Fine dining experience preferred.
- Knife and light butchery skills preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of fine dining experience.
