About the role
At E.A. Sween, we seek a motivated individual who can lead the line by ensuring all team members work together efficiently, minimizing waste, and adhering to standard work practices.
Responsibilities
- Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) to ensure food safety and integrity.
- Always follow safety protocols and use designated Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Contribute to Lean activities by working with production employees to assemble the lowest cost, highest quality product possible.
- Collaborate, communicate, and learn from people with different backgrounds, cultures, abilities.
- Execute assigned food safety, quality, and continuous improvement activities to support SQF requirements, regulatory requirements, and customer requirements.
- Open rejects following written procedures, focusing on GMPs.
- Fills line sanitizer hand dip stations with fresh sanitizer, empties and refills sanitizer at breaks, and verifies sanitizer clarity.
- Sanitize hands, avoid touching the floor, and follow other good manufacturing rules.
- Contribute to cost reduction and quality improvement through continuous improvement initiatives.
- Scan all materials to assigned work orders, safely operate line equipment, and ensure line efficiencies and waste minimization.
- Inspect sandwiches for proper preparation, quickly address deviations, adjust equipment speed, document start and end times, and verify material accuracy.
- Maintain a 100% fill rate and change film, labels, printers, and Julian dates.
- Operate multivac equipment, printers, labelaire, slicing equipment, and calculators.
- Use radios, computers, pens, worksheets, and PPEs including ear plugs and cut-resistant gloves.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old to operate equipment.
- Requires a High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Previous assembly work and knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices are preferred.
- Must have mechanical aptitude and be meeting or exceeding standards in current production position for at least 3 months (for internal applicants).
- Able to read and communicate effectively in English.
- Able to work well with others and have a teamwork mindset.
- Able to maintain a good attendance record.
- Able to keep work area clean, safe, and organized.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous food-related experience.
Physical Demands/Work Environment
- Must be able to be on feet continuously.
- Must be able to bend, turn, push, pull frequently.
- Must be able to reach overhead frequently.
- Must be able to frequently lift 50 lbs.
- Must be able to keep up with manufacturing speeds.
- Must be able to work in temperatures 35-45 degrees.
- Must be able to properly perform and rotate to all positions on the line.
Pay
$21.00 per hour.
Schedule
Monday-Thursday 5am-4:15pm, with some overtime on Fridays.
