Line Clearance Trimmer (CDL Preferred)

About the role

Davey Utility Line Clearance is offering a key opportunity for an experienced Line Clearance Trimmer (CDL holder and/or climbing experience preferred) to join the team working from Clintonville, PA to the Harrisville, PA region. The position is on‑site.

Responsibilities

• Climb trees using Davey’s DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems.
• Perform all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for major electric utility providers.
• Prune treetops and repair damaged trees by trimming or removal.
• Remove broken limbs from utility lines, roofs, and other objects.
• Apply tree identification knowledge and industry pruning guidelines.
• Maintain, prepare, and operate tools and equipment including chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts, and more.
• Operate as an active crew member supporting ground crew and foreperson.

Requirements

• Love of the outdoors.
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire.
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire.
• Valid driver’s license (required).
• Preferred: Commercial Driver’s License‑Class A or B with Air Brake Endorsement.
• Preferred: line clearance experience or other related tree work.
• Preferred: relevant pesticide and related licenses/certificates if required by state law.
• Preferred: ISA Certified Arborist®, ISA Certified Tree Worker®, and/or TCIA Certified Tree Care Safety Professional®.

Pay

Hourly rate range $18.73 – $25.65, based on line clearance/industry experience and whether the candidate holds a CDL or has climbing experience.

Schedule

Full‑time hourly position; travel expectations up to 25%.
