Line Clearance Groundperson
About the Role
Davey Utility Line Clearance, a division of The Davey Tree Expert Company, is pleased to offer a key opportunity as a Groundperson joining a team servicing the Guernsey and Tuscarawas County, Ohio regions, including Cambridge, Dover, and New Philadelphia.
Responsibilities
- Provides support for other crew members by controlling lowering ropes, limbs, and persons from aloft
- Supplies tools for tree workers
- Controls road and sidewalk traffic as needed using warning devices and other methods
- Cuts, chips, and loads brush and wood, ensuring proper job site cleanup
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Driver’s license required; Commercial driver’s license preferred and may be required depending on job requirements
- Certificates and licenses if necessary
- Pesticide license, if required by state law
- Herbicide license a plus
- Line clearance certification if working near utility transmission lines
- ISA Certified Tree Worker certification or willingness to obtain
Pay
Hourly rate range $18.00 - $20.00 based upon line clearance/industry experience and if a CDL holder.

Additional Information
