About the Role
Assembles components for the packaging of meals or accessory products for production under the supervision of a Production Supervisor.
Responsibilities
- Perform product inspections to verify correct product names, codes, and dates; assist in on-line visual inspection to prevent defects.
- Inspect for leaks, broken packages, and ensure all components of accessory packs are accounted for prior to assembly.
- Maintain line speeds with repetitive gripping, grabbing, and placing of items into bags, boxes, or other containers.
- Stack items and insert them on menu bags in the correct order according to menu specifications.
- Prepare menu bags for sealing and boxing.
- Inspect sealed menu bags for correct product placement, codes, and dates; operate sealing machines and check for seal defects.
- Place assembled and sealed menu bags into proper containers, inspecting for breaks, leaks, or other defects.
- Move containers to final assembly and assist Quality Assurance (QA), MPC, and Final Assembly with delivery of items for inspection.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
- Must complete job-specific training as outlined in the Training Register.
- Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and recognize similarities/differences between words and number series.
- Ability to print and speak simple sentences.
- Basic math skills: add/subtract two-digit numbers, multiply/divide by 10s and 100s, and perform operations using American units of money, weight, volume, and distance.
- Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions and handle standardized situations with minimal variables.
Physical Demands
- Regularly lift 2.5 to 7 pounds repetitively; occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Frequently stand, walk, use hands to finger/handle objects or tools, and reach with hands and arms.
- Climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk, hear, taste, or smell.
- Specific vision abilities required include the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
- Regularly work near moving mechanical parts; occasionally exposed to fumes, airborne particles, extreme cold, extreme heat, and vibration.
- Frequent exposure to loud noise levels.
- Occasionally work in high, precarious places, outside weather conditions, wet/humid conditions, and near potential hazards such as sulphuric acid (electric battery) or carbon monoxide (propane-fueled forklift).
