About the role

Comstock is hiring an Exterior Porter for its Alexandria, VA portfolio under the ParkX brand. This is a hands-on, boots-on-the-ground position responsible for keeping common areas, lobbies, restrooms, sidewalks, and public-facing spaces clean and guest-ready throughout every shift.

You'll work from daily checklists assigned by the Senior Operations Manager and handle everything from pressure washing designated areas to window cleaning, trash collection, and routine upkeep. When events happen on-site, you support the setup and breakdown. When a cleanliness issue comes up between scheduled tasks, you respond to it directly.

This role requires showing up in the approved ParkX Porter uniform before your shift starts, maintaining your janitorial closet and supply storage in organized condition, and completing end-of-shift documentation so the next person picks up without gaps. You'll also track cleaning supply inventory, flag any safety hazards or maintenance concerns to management, and keep all equipment in working order through regular preventive care. Weekend availability and flexibility during high-traffic events are part of the job.

Responsibilities

• Ensure sidewalks, lobbies, restrooms, and public-facing spaces are clean, dry, and presentable by 7:45 a.m. daily
• Follow daily checklists for pressure washing, window cleaning, trash collection, and routine upkeep
• Support setup and breakdown for on-site events
• Respond to cleanliness issues between scheduled tasks
• Maintain janitorial closet and supply storage in organized condition
• Complete end-of-shift documentation for seamless handoffs
• Track cleaning supply inventory and flag safety hazards or maintenance concerns
• Perform preventive care on all equipment to ensure working order

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver's license with no major violations
• Ability to work weekends and outside standard hours, particularly during events
• Strong time management, communication, and problem-solving skills
• High reliability and personal accountability
• Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision
• Positive, proactive attitude and a customer-focused mindset
• Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds
• Ability to stand and move for extended periods
• Ability to work in variable temperatures indoors and outdoors
• Ability to handle exposure to cleaning chemicals and environmental conditions
