Responsibilities

• Administer ionizing radiation to patients for diagnostic purposes
• Provide patient services and perform radiographic procedures using radiographic modalities
• Provide optimal patient care utilizing established and accepted techniques

Note: Operators are limited by the exams they can perform on patients. Exams on small children and babies are not allowed until evaluation of abilities is done by a manager or QA Tech.

Qualifications

• If not certified or have limited scope training upon hire, must enroll in the Radiologic Operator training through Essentia Health

Licensure/Certification Requirements

• Minnesota: Valid MN Department of Health X-ray Operator certificate within one year of hire or transfer
• Wisconsin: Current Limited X-ray machine operator permit through the Wisconsin Society of Radiologic Technologists within one year of hire or transfer
• North Dakota: Current Limited X-ray Machine Operator licensure through the North Dakota Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Board (NDBMIRT)

• Compensation Range: $23.92 - $35.57 / hour
