About the role
The LIHEAP Seasonal Administrative Assistant is responsible for working with clients in need of assistance with heat and electric assistance. This position involves answering phone calls for housing stabilization, making appointments, completing intake, and application processing for Energy Assistance. The role will be based out of our Inn Circle Office and requires travel to Marengo two days per week. The approximate start date is October 1, 2026, with an end date of April 1, 2027.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with heat and electric assistance applications.
- Answer phone calls related to housing stabilization.
- Schedule appointments and complete intake processes.
- Process applications for Energy Assistance.
- Travel to Marengo two days per week.
Schedule
- Monday - Friday from 8:00 am - 4:30 pm.
- Seasonal position with an end date of April 1, 2027.
Pay
$18.19 - $19.56 hourly, depending on education and experience.

Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- AA in Business Administration or one (1) year of experience in Human Services preferred.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, including active listening.
- Ability to learn, apply, and train on new technology.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-task environment with limited supervision.
- Working knowledge of personal computers and standard software such as Word, Excel, and databases.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Valid Car Insurance.
- Reliable Transportation.
