Responsibilities

  • Changing bulbs, ballasts, and drivers on existing lighting fixtures.
  • Working from aerial lifts and interfacing directly with customers.
  • Dispatched daily to customers and resolving lighting problems professionally and safely.
  • Completing site documentation on an electronic device, requiring knowledge of smart phone/tablet technology.
  • Assembling, installing, testing, and maintaining electrical or electronic lighting components.
  • Installing and mounting lighting controls, devices, sensors, and components.
  • Safe operation of aerial lifts and bucket trucks.
  • Testing lighting systems and continuity of circuits in fixtures using testing devices.
  • Inspecting installation sites and studying work orders, building plans, and installation manuals to determine materials requirements and installation procedures.
  • Diagnosing malfunctioning lighting systems and components using test equipment and hand tools to locate and correct issues.
  • Reading contract drawings.
  • Troubleshooting EMS systems, smart breakers, and relays.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED with at least 1 year of related experience.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Successful completion of a background check and drug test.
  • Commitment to excellence and generating high-quality work.
  • Consistent attendance and ability to work well with others to achieve common goals.
  • Maintaining a safe work environment.

Abilities

  • The ability to lift, carry, and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Physical strength and stamina to perform various tasks such as loading, unloading, operating equipment, and assisting in the transportation of materials.
  • Proper lifting techniques and adherence to safety protocols to ensure personal and team safety.
  • Ability to relocate a 12-foot stepladder without assistance.
  • Works at various heights up to 60 feet and can climb and maintain balance on scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks, and all types of ladders.
  • Routine and repetitive movements such as walking, climbing, lifting, squatting, crawling, kneeling, pushing, pulling, and reaching overhead.
  • Good vision (may be corrected), the ability to see in color, and the ability to hear and communicate in English.
  • Possession of a standard ladder without exceeding the weight limit while carrying tools.
  • The ability to recognize when something is wrong or likely to go wrong, and to solve problems independently.
  • The ability to combine pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions, including finding relationships between seemingly unrelated events.
  • The ability to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
  • The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
