About the role

We're looking for a Lighting Quotations Specialist to join our Lighting team with a preferred location in Hayward, CA, and flexibility to work from one of our other ALCAL branch locations.

Responsibilities

  • Handle customer needs from request for quote to quoting the customer.
  • Field calls and emails for requests, changes, and re-bids.
  • Communicate with customers, salespeople, and manufacturers to build relationships and ensure Alameda Electrical Distributors is the go-to for their Lighting needs.
  • Partner with salespeople and managers to determine margins, ensure customer satisfaction, and promote future business.
  • Work with internal/external stakeholders, manufacturers, and lighting agencies to obtain information for customer projects.
  • Review and analyze reports to inform stakeholders, diagnose quotation problems, and advise implications of given data.
  • Maintain product knowledge, understand current CA T20/T24 standards, and new technologies to help advise customers and stakeholders.
  • Maintain an amicable relationship with all Lighting Reps to ensure AED receives a competitive discount.
  • Provide backup to Lighting Project Managers and sales, as needed.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2+ years of experience working as a full-time quotation's specialist, administrative assistant, project assistant, or a similar role is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Solar Eclipse, Job Management, and Cahill preferred.
  • Basic Intermediate or better knowledge of personal computers and peripherals, word processing and spreadsheet software, e-mail, and the Internet.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, Outlook, OneNote, and Planner.

  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, including phone, email, and in-person interactions.
  • Customer-focused with strong customer service and relationship-building skills.
  • Lighting product and electrical distribution experience preferred.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Able to identify, investigate, and resolve discrepancies proactively.
  • Self-motivated with a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and high ethical standards.
