About the role

We're looking for a Lighting Quotations Specialist to join our Lighting team with a preferred location in Hayward, CA, and flexibility to work from one of our other ALCAL branch locations.

Responsibilities

  • Handle customer needs from request for quote to quoting the customer.
  • Field calls and emails for requests, changes, and re-bids.
  • Communicate with customers, salespeople, and manufacturing reps.
  • Problem solve, organize, and provide product knowledge.
  • Support Lighting Project Managers and Sales when needed.
  • Build relationships with customers and ensure AED is the go-to for their Lighting needs.

Requirements

  • Request manufacturer quotations, track progress, and enter data into Cahill and Job Management.
  • Review quotes for accuracy and completeness to ensure profitability.
  • Partner with salespeople and managers to determine margins, ensure customer satisfaction, and promote future business.
  • Work with internal/external stakeholders, manufacturers, and lighting agencies.
  • Provide backup to Lighting Project Managers and Sales, as needed.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2+ years of experience working as a full-time quotation's specialist, administrative assistant, project assistant, or a similar role.
  • Knowledge of Solar Eclipse, Job Management, and Cahill preferred.
  • Basic Intermediate or better knowledge of personal computers and peripherals, word processing and spreadsheet software, e-mail, and the Internet.
  • Microsoft Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, Outlook, OneNote, and Planner.

Skills

  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, including phone, email, and in-person interactions.
  • Customer-focused with strong customer service and relationship-building skills.
  • Lighting product and electrical distribution experience preferred.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to identify, investigate, and resolve discrepancies proactively.
  • Self-motivated with a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and high ethical standards.

Pay

$37.00 - $46.00 per hour depending on experience.

Schedule

Hybrid Work Schedule: 7:00am – 4:00pm, 3 days in office, 2 days remote.
