Duties and Responsibilities

  • Visit accounts as scheduled to deliver product.
  • Ensure all sales, transactions, and POS are in compliance with ABC regulations.
  • Work safely and comply with CBC policies and processes to ensure proper material handling techniques and defensive driving; use appropriate PPE; and, attend all required safety training.
  • Establish positive working relationships with primary contact at each account and with CBC sales staff.
  • Represent CBC in a professional manner by professional appearance and communication.
  • Communicate timely and effectively with sales staff and management team to escalate any customer concerns or issues.
  • Follow all policies and procedures associated with daily vehicle inspections, driving, and substance abuse.
  • Rotate product in compliance with customer, supplier, and CBC policy.
  • Stock shelves, build displays, and merchandise/organize back stock, shelves and coolers.
  • Remove out of date and/or damaged product on a pre-approved management exception; remove all empty kegs and pallets.
  • Price product (for specific accounts designated as driver-priced).
  • Verify ticket and product information, obtain customer signature, and collect payment; secure cash and checks in safe and locked cab of truck to prevent theft.
  • Responsible for daily, accurate settlement of route.
  • Responsible for the care and maintenance of company-assigned property and equipment.
  • Responsible for providing guidance and direction to route assistants on the route.
  • Responsible for regular and punctual attendance to ensure product is delivered timely to CBC customers.

Required Qualifications

  • Possess and display Coastal Beverage Company’s Core Values at all times.
  • Possess education equivalent to a high school diploma.
  • Possess the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures manuals.
  • Possess the ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Possess basic mathematical skills including the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, use whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Possess the ability to compute rate, ratio and percent.
  • Possess ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Possess computer skills requiring knowledge e-mail software, route accounting system, and Internet.
  • Possess the ability to maintain regular and punctual in-person attendance to regularly support delivery operations and service customer accounts.
  • Possess ability to obtain and maintain an active beer and wine sales license.
  • Possess ability to drive, valid driver’s license, and a driving record compliant with company standards.

Physical Demands

  • Regularly/constantly (>66% of workday): Employee must regularly reach knee to shoulder, handle/grip, lift/push/pull exerting force over 20 pounds, hear and see.
  • Frequently (34-66% of workday): Employees must frequently sit, walk, stand, lift one-handed, lift/push/pull exerting force over 50 pounds, reach below knee, and talk.
