About the Role
Drives gas or diesel powered trucks to perform pick-up and delivery tasks based on daily assignments from Dispatcher. Operates vehicles on and off government installations in varying traffic conditions, including transporting HAZMAT as required.
Responsibilities
- Drive trucks under 3,000 lbs. to destinations using maps and instructions.
- Inspect trucks for defects before and after trips; report maintenance needs to Dispatcher.
- Monitor vehicle operation and ensure safe transport of loads.
- Communicate via radio or cellular phone for directions and updates.
- Assist in loading and unloading transported materials.
- Perform daily preventive maintenance adjustments on trucks.
- Adhere to safety and quality standards as outlined by Amentum.
- Complete all required training and participate in emergency response tasks.
- Follow operational, safety, quality, and environmental procedures relevant to the role.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum six months of general experience, with six months of specific experience demonstrating role-related knowledge (or one year of specific experience may substitute for one year of high school education).
- Must obtain and maintain a valid operator’s license for required equipment within 30 days of selection.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
- Must meet all Federal and State requirements for the position.
Physical Demands
- Regularly required to sit; frequently required to climb or balance.
- Occasionally required to stand, walk, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.
- Requires close, distance, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Pay
Hourly rate: $20.36 (SCA-governed position). Additional health and welfare payments may apply per SCA provisions.
