About the role

CoVolt Power is a leading utility-scale EPC (Engineering, Procurement & Construction) company specializing in the design and delivery of solar, battery energy storage (BESS), and high voltage infrastructure. Since its founding in 2005, the company has built a reputation for de-risking project delivery and providing creative, integrated solutions that span the power and digital infrastructure sectors. We are seeking a skilled and reliable Light Equipment Operator to join our team and contribute to the overall success of our operations.

Responsibilities

  • Operate light construction equipment such as skid steers, mini-excavators, and forklifts, in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Perform routine maintenance and inspections on equipment to ensure proper functioning.
  • Assist with loading and unloading materials and equipment at job sites.
  • Work closely with site supervisors and other team members to ensure projects are completed on time and within scope.
  • Follow all safety guidelines and protocols to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to supervisors immediately.
  • Assist with manual labor tasks as needed when equipment is not in use.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, including the storage of equipment and tools.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Proven experience operating light construction equipment.
  • Strong understanding of safety procedures and protocols.
  • Ability to perform physical labor and lift heavy objects.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Flexibility to work in various weather conditions and adapt to changing project needs.
  • This position requires working outdoors in various, often extreme weather conditions including rain, snow, heat, cold, etc.
  • Candidates must be able to work in all weather conditions, as safety permits.
  • This position may also include exposure to loud noises, dust, debris, and other construction-related hazards.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification in equipment operation (e.g., OSHA certification).
  • Experience in a similar role within the construction industry.
  • Mechanical skills for minor equipment repairs.
