About the role
CoVolt Power is a leading utility-scale EPC (Engineering, Procurement & Construction) company specializing in the design and delivery of solar, battery energy storage (BESS), and high voltage infrastructure. We are seeking a skilled and reliable Light Equipment Operator to join our team and contribute to the overall success of our operations.
Responsibilities
- Operate light construction equipment such as skid steers, mini-excavators, and forklifts, in a safe and efficient manner.
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections on equipment to ensure proper functioning.
- Assist with loading and unloading materials and equipment at job sites.
- Work closely with site supervisors and other team members to ensure projects are completed on time and within scope.
- Follow all safety guidelines and protocols to maintain a safe work environment.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to supervisors immediately.
- Assist with manual labor tasks as needed when equipment is not in use.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including the storage of equipment and tools.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Proven experience operating light construction equipment.
- Strong understanding of safety procedures and protocols.
- Ability to perform physical labor and lift heavy objects.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
- Flexibility to work in various weather conditions and adapt to changing project needs.
- This position requires working outdoors in various, often extreme weather conditions including rain, snow, heat, cold, etc.
- Candidates must be able to work in all weather conditions, as safety permits.
- This position may also include exposure to loud noises, dust, debris, and other construction-related hazards.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification in equipment operation (e.g., OSHA certification).
- Experience in a similar role within the construction industry.
- Mechanical skills for minor equipment repairs.
