Light Bar Assembly
About the role
Federal Signal is currently seeking a Light Bar Assembler to perform duties involving the identification, selection, and assembly of various electro-mechanical, mechanical, and electronic components and assemblies. The role also includes performing simple wire and soldering operations, conducting Go/No Go tests, reworking incorrect or changed light bars, and managing inventory.
Responsibilities
- Works from blueprints, schedules, shop orders, spec sheets, process instructions, and verbal or on-PC/CRT instructions.
- Arranges for parts, materials, supplies, tooling, gauges, and equipment to meet production requirements.
- Requisitions and stores materials.
- Passes KanBan cards to producing departments according to defined guidelines.
- Moves items between storage areas and the work cell.
- Fills out and submits requisitions, move tickets, finished goods tickets, and scrap tickets.
- Records and/or alerts supervisors, QA, and engineering to defects and operating difficulties.
- Uses hand and power tools, pallet jacks, hand trucks, fixed gauges, jigs, meters, soldering irons, CRT/PC, bar code readers, gang microchip programmers, riveters, presses, terminating/crimping machines.
- Performs preventative maintenance on equipment in the work cell.
- Trains new and existing employees on the work cell operation.
- Follows safety rules and maintains a clean and orderly work cell.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Proficiency in basic computer skills is preferred.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate should have a strong foundation in manual and machine operations, as well as experience with basic electronics and mechanical assembly.

$19.96/hr - $24.99/hr
