Lift Operator | Part Time

About the role

Assists guests in getting on and off of chair lifts by operating ski lifts, including inspection and testing before opening. Must be energetic, outgoing, and able to interact with guests in a friendly and fun manner. A crucial part of the role is to get and keep guests as part of a customer-focused organization.

Responsibilities

• Operates the assigned lift under the supervision of the Lift Operations Supervisor or assistants, following standard procedures and instructions to provide safe uphill transportation for guests and employees.
• Assists with shoveling and raking snow and ice to maintain proper ramps, corrals, and work areas.
• Inspects the lift prior to startup, including emptying trash containers, checking marker information boards, tissue dispensers, switches, chairs, grips, and maintaining ramps and corrals.
• Becomes familiar with the area (lifts and trails) and the functions of other departments.
• Advises and assists guests as needed in a courteous manner.
• Learns and adheres to resort policies, safety policies, and guest service expectations.
• Communicates problems to superiors while handling routine matters and emergencies with initiative.
• Remains vigilant to the needs of both equipment and guests, reacting safely while maintaining quality service.
• Contributes to team effort by participating in job sharing, maintaining resort cleanliness, ensuring safety, attending safety meetings, accepting diverse assignments, and maintaining a positive attitude in all interactions.
• Meets service level objectives and department goals set by the immediate supervisor.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
