Lifeguard - Hotel Operations

About the role

The incumbent is responsible for maintaining the safety and security of the swimming pool in the Recreation Department. They assist team members in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the pool area, enforce all policies and procedures, and cheerfully accommodate guest needs.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the safety and security of the swimming pool
• Assist team members in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the pool area
• Enforce all policies and procedures
• Accommodate the needs and requests of guests, ensuring a positive guest experience
• Respond quickly and effectively in distress or emergency situations
• Execute emergency action procedures, such as performing basic first aid, CPR, and other lifesaving techniques
• Prevent accidents through the enforcement of policies, rules, and regulations governing the conduct of guests using the pool
• Report potential physical hazards and unsafe conditions to management
• Greet all guests entering and leaving the pool area
• Constantly walk through the pool area to ensure it is clean and organized
• Set up and break down the pool deck for events or during a state of emergency
• Inspect the entire pool and beach area, notifying management of any issues that need to be corrected
• Promote positive public/employee relations at all times
• Maintain a clean, safe, hazard-free work environment within area of responsibility
• Perform all other related and compatible duties as assigned

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of two (2) years of similar experience required, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience
• Must be CPR, First Aid, AED (Automatic External Defibrillator), and Lifeguard certified or have the ability to obtain certification
• Must be able to swim, pull or drag through the water individuals of all sizes and to perform job functions in all weather conditions
• Must possess excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with pool guests
• Must be able to work on a wet and slippery floor

$18.00 an hour
