About the role
The Lifeguard is responsible for supervising all swimming areas to ensure guest safety at all times. Lifeguards maintain a professional attitude, assist guests with questions about the pool and property, help keep the pool area clean, and support the Pool Operations team with daily tasks. This role requires a high level of personalized guest service aligned with the company’s core values: Kindness, Engagement, Empathy, and Positivity.
Responsibilities
- Welcome guests to the pool and monitor guest items to uphold departmental policies and procedures.
- Maintain an outgoing and proactive attitude.
- Lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly during 8–10 hour shifts in temperatures ranging from 40–120 degrees.
- Sit or stand for extended periods while monitoring the pool deck to ensure guest safety and comfort.
- Problem-solve effectively under pressure.
- Manage personal time and others’ when in a leadership role.
- Maintain punctuality and strong attendance.
- Adhere to appearance policies outlined in GNLV Standards.
- Keep the pool area clean by removing used towels and trash.
Requirements
- Valid Lifeguard CPR/AED Certification.
- High School Diploma or GED (or actively pursuing one).
- Minimum age of 16.
- Basic mathematical skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) relevant to the role.
- Ability to read and understand all policies and procedures.
- Effective communication in English with guests, employees, and management.
- Ability to complete standard forms and reports.
Qualifications
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, administrative, multitasking, organizational, and prioritization skills.
- Ability to work efficiently, independently, and collaboratively while producing quality results.
- At least 6 months of customer service experience in hospitality (or equivalent) preferred.
