Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintains safety by monitoring swimming areas and enforcing rules.
- Responds to emergencies by performing rescues, initiating emergency procedures, and administering first aid.
- Maintains pool water chemistry and adjusts chemical levels to ensure safety standards.
- Supports aquatics programming and assists with water quality maintenance.
- Assists with pool maintenance tasks such as refilling and routine upkeep.
- Officiates or assists with swim meets and aquatic events.
- Develops and delivers aquatic programs like swim lessons and water safety instruction.
- Maintains accurate records of aquatic activities and programs.
Requirements
- Current enrollment in High School, High School Diploma, or GED.
- Must be 15 years or older.
- CPR certified.
- Successfully complete the New Mexico lifeguard and safety training.

Requires a combination of education and experience that provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job.

$15.55 - $20.01 per hour
Schedule
Employee is outdoors 75% of time when assigned to outdoor pool; 25% of time when assigned to inside pool. Indoor duties are performed in a temperature-controlled environment.
