About the role
The Life Skills Coach at Valley Youth House plays a crucial role in empowering young adults aged 14-23 through individualized goal planning, case management, and the facilitation of long-term projects.
Responsibilities
- Engage youth in developing and implementing their individual goal and/or transition plans using positive youth development, trauma-informed, and culturally appropriate frameworks.
- Provide quality in-person goal planning, instruction, and case management services, focusing on youth/client identified levels of service (minimum of 50% of working hours).
- Ensure up-to-date paper and electronic client records are compliant with relevant regulations and grant requirements.
- Facilitate a long-term project that may be an ongoing workshop or initiative.
Requirements
- A minimum of one year experience working with young adults ages 14-23.
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Human Services.
- Mature individual with the ability to identify with and adapt to the goals and philosophies of positive youth development.
- Sound judgment and knowledge of adolescent development.
- Organized and adept at managing multiple tasks and assignments.
- Creative thinker and flexible approach to people and projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Human Services.
