Life Safety Systems (LSS) Designer

About the role

Design and develop Life Safety Systems including Fire Alarm, Voice Evacuation, Gas Detection, VESDA, Access Control, and CCTV systems. Utilize AutoCAD and Revit MEP to create detailed 3D BIM models and design layouts. Coordinate design efforts with architects, engineers, and multidisciplinary teams. Deliver complex system design packages to support client business needs.

Responsibilities

• Apply knowledge of relevant codes and standards (IFC, IBC, NFPA 70, NFPA 101, NFPA 72) in all design work.
• Support system design for industrial projects and ensure compliance with manufacturer specifications.
• Prepare layouts and assist with system integration for fire alarm detection, HPM leak detection, toxic gas management, and security systems.
• Participate in project meetings and collaborate to resolve design challenges.

Qualifications

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of drafting technologies; Autodesk Certification Professional (ACP) or similar certifications preferred.

Work location

Contract-to-hire opportunity, with preference for candidates located near Austin, Phoenix, Pittsburgh, Albany, or Portland to work onsite.
