Responsibilities
- Field Team Leadership
- Direct oversight of fire alarm, sprinkler, extinguisher, and suppression technicians.
- Daily dispatch and labor planning to ensure efficient scheduling and appropriate skill set assignments.
- Daily review of completed work orders to ensure readiness for billing.
- Review and approval of daily/weekly timecards and payroll for accuracy and overtime control.
- Conduct regular in-field visits for quality control, safety, and coaching purposes.
- Operational Execution
- Manage work orders to ensure timely completion of repairs, inspections, and follow-up deficiencies.
- Actively monitor and reduce backlog to avoid aged work orders, missed inspections, or delayed repairs.
- Confirm jobs are properly prepared (materials, documents, tools) and inspection-ready before dispatch.
- Customer Service Support
- Handle on-site customer issues, rework needs, or delays before escalating to the Total Service Manager.
- Conduct periodic quality control on inspections and repairs to ensure code compliance and customer satisfaction.
- Scheduling & Dispatching
- Assign work orders to technicians based on availability, skill set, location, and job priority.
- Coordinate scheduling details with customers and subcontractors as needed.
- Maintain a forward-looking schedule with at least 45 days of inspections planned in advance.
- Route technicians strategically to minimize drive time and maximize billable efficiency.
- Team Development & Performance
- Develop technician skill sets and assist with NICET certifications, licensing, or on-the-job training.
- Provide input on performance evaluations, coaching, and disciplinary actions.
- Foster a positive work environment aligned with safety, accountability, and growth.
- Safety & Compliance
- Ensure proper PPE, safe practices, and incident reporting protocols are followed on job sites.
- Verify that tools, ladders, test equipment, and vehicles are maintained, tracked, and used properly.
- Support audits or inspections related to NFPA, OSHA, AHJ, and company standards.
- Internal Collaboration
- Work closely with schedulers and dispatch to make real-time adjustments and solve technician issues.
- Coordinate technician crossover for inspection/repairs post-project when needed.
- Support procurement and tracking of technician materials, tools, and equipment.
- Assist in conducting interviews and hiring for new technicians.
- Manage or monitor third-party vendors or subcontractors.
- Provide weekly updates or reports to the Total Service Manager on field performance.
