About the Role

This position is part of the Morning Pointe Management Team, responsible for creating resident-focused, high-performance, high-commitment work teams that support the Morning Pointe purpose of “partnering with families in meeting the challenges of life.” The role focuses on fostering high-level customer satisfaction through interaction with residents and their families.

Working Conditions

Works in an office environment with frequent movement throughout the community. Engages with residents, families, associates, volunteers, visitors, vendors, and other individuals or agencies involved in community operations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • At least one year of experience in senior resident services or Life Enrichment/senior recreation
  • Prior experience in healthcare or adult living
  • Certifications or licenses in a related area preferred

Responsibilities

  • Plans, develops, organizes, implements, and evaluates quality recreational and activity programs
  • Promotes market recognition and awareness by submitting photos, event highlights, and human interest stories to the corporate communications department
  • Meets with residents to understand their needs and ensure programs effectively meet diverse resident expectations
  • Organizes and communicates the activity calendar to residents and associates
  • Collaborates with the Community Relations Director to facilitate Life Enrichment events that appeal to prospective residents and create community goodwill
  • Complies with budgetary guidelines
  • Engages in public relations to secure volunteers from the greater community
  • Responds immediately and appropriately to resident and family comments or requests
  • Ensures community awareness through volunteer and outreach plans involving area agencies and professionals
  • Designs, develops, and oversees creative activity programming, scheduling at least 6 activities per day, including evenings and weekends
  • Ensures activities align with Morning Pointe Life Enrichment Standards, focusing on healthy aging and individual preferences
  • Establishes a database of community outreach contacts to support Life Enrichment Standards
  • Produces a monthly activities calendar and supporting printed materials using approved templates
  • Creates a monthly newsletter following the Morning Pointe format, including photos and details
  • Manages Life Enrichment activities within the allotted budget
  • Trains resident assistants (RAs) and volunteers in activity leadership
  • Meets each new resident within 48 hours to complete an activity assessment and understand their interests
  • Coordinates quarterly and monthly special events (e.g., Family Night) as specified in the marketing plan
  • Assists in developing Personal Service Care Plans for residents based on their activity interests
  • Coordinates a volunteer program to support Morning Pointe life enrichment activities
  • Works with RAs to communicate activity start times and maximize resident participation
  • Conducts associate in-service training on activities and volunteerism
  • Responds to requests for mailed marketing materials, such as newsletters
  • Ensures family and community awareness of programming through monthly phone calls, mailings, and special event promotions
  • Submits photos and event details (with media releases) to the Corporate Communications Director 1-2 times weekly for press and publicity
  • Shares event photos and details with the Executive Director to update lobby displays
  • Maintains records of resident participation in daily activities
  • Conducts weekly one-on-one contact with each resident, either personally or through volunteers
  • Identifies and utilizes available sources of education, entertainment, and activities for residents
  • Offers individual and small group activities for residents who prefer not to attend scheduled events
  • Posts a large, seasonally decorated calendar in a common area
  • Assists with driving residents to external activities and events
  • Attends and assists in coordinating external community events
  • Participates in the Manager on Duty program as directed
  • Serves as a backup for tours and inquiry calls
  • Performs other duties as assigned
