Position Summary

The Life Enrichment Assistant is responsible for implementing various social and life enrichment activities for the social, physical, and mental welfare of our residents. They assist the Life Enrichment Director in planning, organizing, and implementing various Life Enrichment programs. They meet the residents' needs and interests, taking into account the abilities and physical limitations of each individual resident. They participate in the residents' plan of care and document residents' specific interests and participation. They also document attendance at activities, operate equipment such as VCRs, PA systems, projection systems, etc., in an appropriate manner, maintain those systems in a working manner and provide preventative maintenance as appropriate, and work with volunteer staff to ensure smooth operations of Life Enrichment programs.

Position Responsibilities

  • Assists the Life Enrichment Director in planning, organizing and implementing various Life Enrichment programs.
  • Makes sure to meet the residents' needs and interests, considering their abilities and physical limitations.
  • Participates in the residents' plan of care and documents residents' specific interests and participation.
  • Documents attendance at activities.
  • Operates equipment such as VCRs, PA systems, projection systems, etc., in an appropriate manner.
  • Maintains those systems in a working manner and provides preventative maintenance as appropriate.
  • Works with volunteer staff to ensure smooth operations of Life Enrichment programs.

Qualifications

  • Education: High school graduation or equivalent G.E.D.
  • Training and Experience: Previous experience working with the elderly in a recreational setting preferred.
  • Job Knowledge: Knowledge of Title XXII and OBRA preferred. Understands the aspects of leading an activity.

Pay

The starting salary for this position ranges from $19.40 - $21.00 per hour. Factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations may influence base pay offered.
