Life Enrichment Assistant/Activities Aide

Michigan Masonic Home is looking for a talented, compassionate, and hard-working Life Enrichment Assistant eager to serve others. Our team members go above and beyond to care for residents, providing exciting opportunities to learn and grow every day.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning and implementation of daily activities, floor programs, one-to-one programs, special events, and out trips.
• Orient new residents to activity opportunities and co-residents.
• Obtain resident input on activity interests through activity planning meetings and Life Enrichment assessments, as assigned.
• Work in cooperation with volunteers, students, and staff.
• Assist residents to attend programs.
• Document residents’ individual and group activity participation/attendance.
• Decorate facility for special events and holidays, as directed.
• Assist residents on community outings.
• Coordinate and prepare daily program supplies and return supplies to designated areas at the end of the workday.
• Work in coordination with Life Enrichment Manager to promote resident wellness, including behavior interventions, 1:1 interaction, and programming adaptations.
• Promote and advertise upcoming events.

Requirements

• High school diploma
• Experience leading activities with the elderly
• Creative ability
• Craft skills
• Advocate of recreational activities
