LiDAR & GIS Data Processor

About the role

The selected candidate will support the firm's Director of Remote Sensing. The successful candidate will be processing, validating, and manipulating LiDAR and low altitude digital aerial photography, extracting topographic and spatial information from point clouds, creating bare earth digital terrain models, preparing 3D visualizations and topographic and planimetric mapping.

Responsibilities

• Processing, validating, and manipulating LiDAR and photogrammetric data
• Performing post processing (registration) of LiDAR and photogrammetric data
• Performing GPS post processing
• Extraction of mapping features from LiDAR and photogrammetry point clouds
• Create 3D visualizations and topographic and planimetric mapping

Requirements

• A.A.S. or B.S. in Surveying or a GIS related curriculum
• Understanding of basic surveying and topographic mapping concepts
• Experience performing post processing (registration) of LiDAR and photogrammetric data
• Experience with the extraction of mapping features from LiDAR and photogrammetry point clouds
• Excellent computer and technical skills; including familiarity with Mictostation, AutoCAD Civil 3D, Global Mapper, ARC GIS, Pix4D, and TopoDOT
• Must be able to work independently
