Responsibilities
- Perform daily operations of the commercial licensing program to generate revenue that meets or exceeds targets.
- Ensure efficient and cost-effective management of deal flow and assist with the contract enforcement program.
- Prioritize out-license opportunities according to the licensing strategy and work with business units to identify potential in-licensing and out-licensing opportunities.
- Draft, review, and negotiate licensing and other collaborative agreements, ensuring alignment with organizational guidelines.
- Track the licensing process from initial contact through execution, accurately input data in the licensing database, and provide regular metrics updates and reports to Senior Management.
- Conduct research to identify opportunities and qualify potential licensees, ensuring IP usage aligns with organizational messaging.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and 2-5 years’ experience or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated negotiation and legal agreement drafting skills.
- Scientific degree or prior experience in life science industry highly preferred.
- A combination of licensing & life science experience is ideal.
- Ability to multi-task and exercise sound judgment; enhanced critical thinking to creatively negotiate and close deals.
- Self-starter, self-motivated and takes initiative; strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills; able to work independently or collaboratively with all levels of staff, external partners and licensing professionals to resolve problems to maximize performance, creativity, problem-solving and results.
- Attentive to detail with a high level of accuracy; exercise sound judgment and strong project management skills.
- Adaptable; be able to shift priorities and focus as departmental and/or business demands change.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including excellent listening skills to communicate clearly, concisely and effectively.
Benefits
- The target salary for this position is $75,000 annually. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience and qualifications as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
- In addition to base salary, this role may be eligible for additional incentive compensation including regular merit increases and the corporate bonus program.
