Licensed Vocational Nurse- PRN

About the role

Per Request Needed (PRN) Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) serving the Robertson and Middleton Units in Abilene, TX. This flexible opportunity is ideal for compassionate, dependable nurses committed to providing high-quality patient care in a correctional healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

• Work a minimum of four (4) 12‑hour shifts per month based on departmental staffing needs.
• Deliver safe, patient‑centered nursing care while practicing within the LVN scope of practice.
• Follow organizational policies and work under the direction of a Registered Nurse.

Qualifications

• Current Vocational Nurse License in the State of Texas, or ability to transfer license to Texas, or scheduled to complete a vocational nursing program within 120 days of applying.
• Current CPR certification.
• Graduated from an approved accredited nursing program.
• New graduates must pass the National Council Licensure Examination for Practical Nurses (NCLEX‑PN) on the first attempt.
• No prior experience required.

Pay

• LVN Shift Differential: Day Shift Employees earn an extra $3.00 per hour for shifts worked on Saturday and Sunday.
• Night Shift Employees earn an extra $3.00 per hour for shifts worked Monday through Friday.
• Night Shift Employees also earn an extra $3.00 per hour for shifts worked on Saturday and Sunday.

Schedule
