Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) - ER

About the role

Under a Registered Nurse's supervision, the Licensed Vocational Nurse provides nursing care for a group of patients, based on matching the patients' needs with the LVN's competencies. Completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period. Other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Minimum Education: Graduate of an accredited school of vocational nursing
• Minimum Experience: None
• Preferred Experience: LVN in an acute care setting
• Required Certifications/Licensure: Possession of current Texas State License for Licensed Vocational Nurse
• Required Courses/Completions:
  • Must have active healthcare provider Basic Life Support on hire (ARC or AHA); however, must have AHA Healthcare Provider BLS within 60 days of hire
  • AHA PALS must be completed within 60 days of hire or transfer into role (Emergency Room)
  • S.T.A.B.L.E. – Level 2 Nursery – Must provide proof of prior completion or obtain within 6 months of hire or transfer date into unit (Renewal is not required)
  • Non-Violent Crisis Intervention must be completed within 60 days of hire or transfer into role (Behavioral Health and Emergency Room)
