Licensed Vocational Nurse Home Health (Santa Barbara) **45-50 per hr**

About the role

Omega Home Health Care Services Inc is currently seeking a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to provide care for homebound patients in Santa Barbara and surrounding areas.

Responsibilities

• Provides skilled nursing care to clients as directed by the registered nurse and physician's plan of care in accordance with agency policies.
• Promotes and maintains client health through teaching and appropriate rehabilitative measures under the guidance of the assigned registered nurse.
• Utilizes agency educational material as appropriate.
• Assists clients in learning appropriate self-care techniques.
• Helps to achieve and maintain continuity of client care by assisting in planning and exchanging information with other health professionals.
• Prepares clinical progress notes and follows client care plans as developed by the registered nurse and according to agency policy.
• Assists the physician and registered nurse in performing specialized procedures for which competency has been established.
• Prepares equipment and materials for treatments observing aseptic technique as required.
• Keeps abreast of changes and trends affecting nursing care and licensed nurse functions.
• Attends client care conferences and communicates regularly with the registered nurse.
• Communicates current health status and needs of clients to appropriate health professionals.

Schedule

This position allows flexibility in scheduling visits with patients. Patients need care 7 days a week. You must be able to work at least two days each week, one weekend a month, and two holidays per year (one winter and one summer). Additional jobs with varying availability can be accommodated.

Requirements

• LVN License (Required)
• Driver's License (Required)
• Active BLS/ACLS/PALS
• Reliable Transportation
• Proof of auto insurance
• Self-directed with ability to work independently with little supervision while meeting performance metrics
• Physical, mental strength and flexible work hours
• Ability to remain calm under pressure
• Proficiency with electronic health records and web-based applications

Qualifications

• Home Health Experience is required
