About the role

We invite you to partner with us in our mission to improve mental healthcare at our Crisis Residential Treatment Facility, a 24/7 inpatient voluntary program serving adults (ages 18-59). The facility offers rehabilitation and recovery services, including substance use rehabilitation, pre-vocational or vocational counseling, and medication evaluation and support services.

Responsibilities

  • Provides direct nursing care and supervises same provided by all nursing staff on the shift worked.
  • Makes written or oral shift assignments and plans, organizes, and directs the nursing activities of the unit, assuring quality care delivery.
  • Visually and audibly observes, documents in writing, and reports orally or in writing the physical or mental condition to the Program Manager and the attending physician or nurse practitioner.
  • Orders, prepares, administers, and documents the administration of medication for clients according to physicians’ or nurse practitioners’ orders. Confirms delivery of all ordered medication from pharmacy on shift worked.
  • Responsible for writing a weekly summary on clients as assigned.
  • Monitors and maintains appropriate nursing documentation in the medical record for shift worked.

Requirements

  • A valid California Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) or Licensed Psychiatric Technician (LPT) license is required.
  • High School diploma or equivalent (e.g., GED, HiSET) is required.
  • An associate degree in nursing or a social science field is preferred.
  • One (1) year of nursing experience is required, preferably treating individuals with mental illness in an inpatient setting. (Clinical nursing school rotations may be substituted for a portion of this work experience).
  • One (1) year of medication administration experience is preferred.

Pay

Starting compensation: $32.00 - $34.00 USD per hour, plus a $2 night shift differential.

Schedule

Every Wednesday, 1800-0630 (overnight shift).
