Licensed Veterinary Technician Surgery

About the role

VCA SouthPaws Veterinary Specialists & Emergency Center in Fairfax, VA is seeking a full-time Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) to work in the Surgery department. LVTs at SouthPaws are crucial members of the team and will work alongside and train with a VTS in Anesthesia and Analgesia, board-certified surgeons, and have the opportunity to cross-train with other departments such as Neurology, Ophthalmology and Internal Medicine.

Schedule

• Four 10-hour shifts per week or five 8-hour shifts per week
• Up to four to six on-call shifts per month (sign-up basis)

Pay

• $31.00 - $44.00/hour
• Overnight and weekend shifts include shift differentials of $5.00 - $7.00/hour added to the hourly rate

Qualifications

• Comfortable with monitoring anesthesia, taking radiographs, and venipuncture
• Effective patient monitoring and administering medications
• Proven track record of providing exceptional patient care while being a true patient advocate
• Articulate, dependable, hardworking, compassionate, and flexible with scheduling
• Adept at communicating with clients and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment
