About the role

The Veterinary Specialty Center of Seattle, a Thrive Pet Healthcare Partner, is a 24-hour Emergency and Critical Care and Specialty hospital. We offer a collaborative approach to veterinary medicine and are committed to providing compassionate medical care and exceptional client service.

Responsibilities

  • Utilizing a Fear Free approach to handling patients and following safety protocols
  • Maintaining accurate patient records using EzyVet and SmartFlow
  • Administering injectable and oral medications (antiemetics, steroids, etc.) and understanding chemotherapeutic agents and protocols
  • Setting up and assisting with chemotherapy, tissue sampling, and other diagnostic procedures
  • Demonstrating understanding of hazardous waste handling and chemotherapy safety protocols
  • Performing venipuncture, cystocentesis, and laboratory procedures (e.g., blood smears, PCV/TS)
  • Communicating effectively with clients, providing updates and ensuring their understanding of treatment plans
  • Supporting our gold standard veterinary care and advocating for the well-being of our patients

Requirements

  • Has at least 1 year of clinical veterinary experience
  • Buys a positive, team-oriented attitude to work every day
  • Is committed to providing a stress-free environment for our patients
  • Enjoys working in a fast-paced, collaborative setting
  • Holds an active WA State Veterinary Technician's License

Qualifications

  • Willing and able to work a flexible schedule and adapt to the needs of the hospital

Skills

  • Knowledge of oncology treatments and protocols
  • Ability to handle stressful situations with poise and professionalism
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
