Licensed Veterinary Technician/Experienced Vet Assistant
About the role
Bridger Veterinary Hospital is seeking an experienced Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) or an experienced Vet Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in veterinary medicine and a passion for providing exceptional care to pets and their owners.
Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians during examinations and procedures
- Administer medications and treatments as directed
- Perform diagnostic tests and record patient data accurately
- Prepare patients for surgery and assist during surgical procedures
- Care for hospitalized patients, including administering medications and monitoring vital signs
- Handle administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, billing, and maintaining records
- Provide support to the veterinary team in fostering positive client experiences
Requirements
- LVT license or eligibility to be licensed
- Experience in veterinary medicine, preferred but not required for non-licensed assistants
- Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude
- Familiarity with veterinary software
- A desire to build long-term relationships with pet parents and the community
- Dependable and reliable
- Team player
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of a veterinary technician program
- Current CPR certification for animals
Skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Attention to detail and accuracy in record keeping
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
