Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians during examinations, treatments, and procedures
- Place IV catheters and collect blood and laboratory samples
- Prepare and administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed
- Perform in-house laboratory testing and assist with diagnostic radiographs
- Prepare patients, equipment, and surgical areas for procedures
- Maintain complete and accurate patient records
- Educate clients about medications, treatments, preventive care, and follow-up instructions
- Work closely with doctors and support staff to deliver exceptional medical care
- Safely handle and restrain dogs, cats, rabbits, pocket pets, and reptiles
- Provide attentive nursing care throughout treatment and recovery
- Monitor anesthesia and accurately document patient vital signs
- Help maintain clean, organized, and well-stocked treatment and surgical areas
Requirements
- At least two years of hands-on veterinary technician or veterinary assistant experience
- Current veterinary technician license or progress toward licensure preferred
- Confidence with IV catheter placement, venipuncture, laboratory testing, and radiology
- Experience with anesthesia monitoring and surgical assistance
- Safe, compassionate, and effective patient-handling skills
- Strong communication and client-education abilities
- Able to take initiative and work independently when needed
- Excellent organization, time management, and attention to detail
- Able to thrive in a busy, fast-paced hospital environment
- Dependable attendance and punctuality
- Positive attitude and willingness to help teammates

Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Current certification as a Veterinary Technician (VTS) or Veterinary Assistant (VAA) preferred
- Current registration as a Veterinary Technician (VT) or Veterinary Assistant (VA) preferred
