Licensed Veterinary Technician
South Shores Animal Hospital is an AAHA-accredited, 7-doctor, full-service small animal hospital in the Summerlin area of Las Vegas, Nevada. We provide warm, compassionate, high-quality care and excellent client service for small animals, exotics, and offer boarding, grooming, rehabilitation, and reproduction services. About the role
We are seeking an experienced Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) to join our team and provide dedicated support for surgery, anesthesia, and dental procedures. This is an excellent opportunity for a technician who wants to fully utilize their skillset with autonomy, trust, and support in a fast-paced, collaborative general practice environment. From induction through recovery, you will play a critical role in delivering safe, efficient, high-quality patient care alongside a veterinary team that values skilled technicians.
Responsibilities
- Coordinating surgical and dental procedure schedules
- Calculating and preparing anesthetic medications and drug dosages
- Inducing, monitoring, and recovering anesthesia patients
- Assisting veterinarians during surgical procedures
- Performing dental prophylaxis and dental radiography
- Monitoring patient recovery and ongoing procedural care
- Guiding clients through patient admission and discharge with confidence and compassion
Requirements
- 3+ years of veterinary technician experience
- Active and good-standing Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) in the state of Nevada
- Proficiency in the following skills:
- Anesthetic induction, monitoring, and recovery
- Surgical assistance and aseptic technique
- Dental prophylaxis and dental radiography
- Venipuncture and intravenous catheter placement
- Radiology positioning and safety protocols
- Medication administration and accurate drug calculations
- Laboratory sample collection and in-house diagnostic testing
Recent graduates pending VTNE testing and licensure, or out-of-state license-holders who are eligible to transfer a license, are also encouraged to apply.
Pay
$25 - $29 per hour
Schedule
This is a flexible full-time position with a 4/10 schedule and availability needed for rotating Saturdays.
