Responsibilities

  • Reviewing real property title searches, deeds, tax records, map/plat records, subdivision records, and review and interpret surveys and/or plats
  • Read and Interpret attorney's preliminary title opinion to produce residential and commercial binders, policies and endorsements
  • Issuance of Title Insurance Commitments, Pro-Forma and Title Insurance Policies, Date Down Endorsements, Commercial and Specialty Policy items
  • Coordinate and respond to Underwriter and closing office questions on Policy issuance
  • Determine requirements and exceptions that are necessary to complete binders and policies in accordance with underwriting procedures and state laws
  • Request authorization for binders that exceed liability limitations
  • Recognize title defects and seek advice from counsel as to insurability
  • Correspond with clients to obtain missing documentation or to clarify information

Qualifications

  • General understanding of Title Insurance and Title Policy issuance is required
  • Ability to learn Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee Department of Insurance procedural rules regarding Title Production regulations
  • Title Insurance License (can be obtained after hire)
  • Strong Organization, communication and execution (decision making) skills
  • SoftPro Proficient
  • Microsoft Suite Proficient
  • Ability to initiate work / self-starter / prioritize workload
  • Exceptional commitment to ethics, integrity and compliance
  • Exceptional customer service attitude and people skills in working with customers
  • Ability to multi task effectively in a fast paced environment and demonstrated organizational skills
  • Strong and accurate attention to detail
  • Utilize Company Software and Office Equipment
  • Must create a positive image of the company through a professional appearance, actions and conduct to fellow employees and customers
