About the role
This fully on-site position provides in-person counseling and therapeutic services to patients, diagnosing and treating mental health and substance use disorders. The Licensed Therapist will develop individualized treatment plans, conduct ongoing assessments, and ensure high-quality care through direct patient interaction. A $10,000 sign-on bonus is offered.
Responsibilities
- Assess patients and diagnose mental health and/or substance use disorders.
- Create individualized treatment plans based on patient needs.
- Refer patients to other healthcare professionals as necessary.
- Engage family members and support systems in patient treatment.
- Respond to patients in crisis, evaluate risk, and initiate appropriate safety measures.
- Complete CSSRS or other crisis tools and link patients to necessary services, including inpatient hospitalization (IPH), crisis planning, or referrals.
- Perform mental health and substance use evaluations for IPH discharged patients, high-risk patients, critical care patients, and referrals from external psychiatric facilities.
- Attend required clinical supervision sessions and staff meetings.
- Provide counseling using evidence-based practices within approved clinical scope and complete required documentation.
- Practice measurement-based care through routine use of approved patient outcome measures.
- Provide referrals and link patients to integrative care services, including community resources, medical providers, and transportation.
- Advocate for and practice in a welcoming, inclusive, and non-discriminatory manner.
- Maintain professional ethics, including strong provider-patient boundaries and avoidance of dual relationships.
- Maintain credentials with managed care contracts by completing and submitting required documentation on time.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements
- Minimal exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues.
- Minimal ergonomic risk for repetitive motion impairment.
- Occasional physical exertion, including bending, lifting, or twisting.
Requirements
- Master’s level degree in psychology or related field; Ph.D. or PsyD from an accredited college or university.
- Preferred: one (1) year of experience in a community mental health setting.
- Active LCAC, LMFT, LMHC, or LCSW licensure with ability to practice in Indiana.
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) certification (obtained after hire and prior to direct patient care; must be maintained).
- BLS (Basic Life Support) and First Aid certification (obtained after hire and prior to direct patient care; must be maintained).
- Valid driver’s license and active auto insurance coverage.
- Satisfactory results from criminal and driving record background checks.
